As we begin this new year, we are encouraged by the news that our Alberta Media Fund grant will arrive soon. It helps us to plan for the coming months. At the moment we are working to put together On Spec #113, having selected several new stories that were sent to us in our 2019 submission period. We are also trying a new process for accepting submissions, and you should see that announced in the coming weeks.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Resnick, a dear friend, colleague and mentor to On Spec editor, Barb Galler-Smith. Mike was well-known in the SF community, as a writer, editor, publisher and teacher for many years and he will be missed.
